MUSIC

The Fianar Reggae Festival is an annual event organized in the city of Fianarantsoa. This festival is dedicated to promoting reggae culture in the region as well as creating a meeting and exchange space for the local community and reggae enthusiasts from around the world. Led by a team of 10 volunteers, it has become an unmissable annual event in the region. Please note, the next edition will take place from March 28 to 31, 2024, so remember to book your tickets here.

Led by the BSKMG collective and artist Encoder Experiment, the SPIRITS project is a tour-residency along the RN7, featuring introductory, sharing, and creative workshops with artists and indigenous people, as well as field recording. The project will culminate in the creation of an album, a live performance, and a transdisciplinary show. SPIRITS opens the way for a dialogue between generations and cultures, traditional artistic expressions and new technologies. The objective is to highlight Malagasy heritage through electronic music.

VIDEO GAME

Since 2016, Ando Andrianarison has been designing and developing the video game COLOR:ZERO, an episodic interactive narrative set in a neo-noir universe. The story takes place in a dystopian world where colors have been erased. The player embodies Walter Koch, a tormented private detective investigating strange murders in Shadeon City. The game will be available on Xbox and PC.

FILM

Franco Clerc, a Malagasy author, screenwriter, director, and producer, plans to adapt his comic book Tangala to the screen. The story is set in Madagascar in the 1940s and tells the journey of an anti-hero, Tangala, who tries to rebuild his life after the traumas of the Second World War. A victim of machinations, Tangala will revolt for himself, but this revolt will spread throughout a divided Madagascar, leading to the insurrection of 1947.

ANIMATED FILM

Trimobe's Revenge is an animated short film inspired by the legend of Trimobe, led by Volana Razafimanantsoa and Annie Andriantsivelany. A finalist in the "African Folktales" competition (Netflix and UNESCO) and a beneficiary of the "Lisolo" mentoring by Afro VFX and Les Femmes s'Animent, this project aims to reinvent the popular Malagasy tale to transmit Malagasy history using humor to combat taboos. Trimobe is a grumpy, misanthropic woman who transforms into an ogress every time she gets angry. She lives as a hermit in the middle of a forest of stones. One day, her tranquility is disturbed by Fara and Koto, two abandoned children, who steal her food. She doesn't know that this encounter will turn her life upside down.
