Ony Academy is a school dedicated to the practice of cinema, music, 3D animation, and video games for young people. It organizes training in the form of practical workshops and online training modules.
For 4 days, students from ONY Academy Workshop 7, as well as students from the Maison du Cinéma Malagasy, had the opportunity to participate in a summer school focused on lighting and framing in cinema and animation.
This training was led by Pascal Montjovent, a director of photography for over 30 years, a cinematographic lighting instructor, and a virtual reality director.
This training, which combines theory and practice, aimed to enable students to master lighting and framing in animation and live-action filmmaking, based on lighting exercises in the studio and on location.
A set of skills were acquired by the students:
- Light quality
- Light direction
- Context and environment analysis
- Fundamental concepts of light and shadow
- Relationship between framing and lighting
- Creation of spaces and volumes with lighting
