Le Workshop 7 et ses jeunes réalisateurs mis à l’honneur à la ONY House

Workshop 7 and its young filmmakers honored at ONY House

After unveiling its productions at a screening in Paris at the Studio des Ursulines in October 2023, the Workshop 7 epic continued in Madagascar at a screening at ONY House Ambatobe on December 9th.

In front of numerous representatives of culture and cinema enthusiasts in Madagascar, ONY House transformed, for one evening, into a theater of the 7th Art.

“It’s an opportunity to show that young people have talent [...] And to show that it's possible here (Madagascar, editor’s note),” Zo Tahiana HARIMINOSON, director of the Academy Workshop 7.

THE WORKSHOP 7 ACADEMY

Initially incubated within the ONY Booster, Workshop 7 has become a full-fledged ONY Academy. This training focuses on sharing experiences, learning professions, but above all on practical application. On the program: practical workshops in the ONY House led by professionals from the ONY ecosystem (Malagasy or international). Young students are selected based on personal projects and are then brought together to create together and learn the different trades throughout the creative process.

In this context, the A-Z filmmaking workshop founded by director Zo Tahiana HARIMINOSON presented to the Malagasy public the 6 short films made by his students. For nearly 6 months, the students worked on scriptwriting and producing cinematic works inspired by the Myth of Sisyphus.

AN EVENING PRESENTATION OF ONY PROJECTS

This screening evening was also an opportunity to present all the projects led by the ONY association: the ONY Booster, the ONY Academies and the ONY House

“We decided to take ONY’s projects further by taking over this venue. The objective of the ONY House is to provide a workspace for Malagasy creatives,” explains Nicolas AURIAULT, director of ONY projects in Madagascar and the Indian Ocean.

These words from the director of ONY projects reaffirm the ONY association’s desire to support, accompany and energize Malagasy cultural and creative industries while explaining the importance of setting up the ONY House in this ambition.

This evening was an opportunity for young directors, their trainers and their technicians to interact with various culture and cinema professionals from the capital during a friendly post-screening moment.
